He was predeceased by : his parents, James Land and Flora Land (Bunch); and his siblings, Wanda Padgett, James Ralph Land, C. J. Land, Ed Land and Robbie Land.

He is survived by : his wife Brenda Land; his sons, James Land, Jeffrey Land (Misty), Timothy Land (Denise) and Henry Land; and his sisters, Betty Stenson and Zelma Parsons. He is also survived by Fourteen grandchildren and Nine great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Herman's memory may be made to Lake Erie Church of God in Madison.
