As Karen departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Karen may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Karen leaves behind.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Kraus and Ruth Kraus (Pokrant); her husband William; and her stepson Robert. She is survived by: her son John "Ed" Battes; and her stepchildren, William "Bill" Battes (Marge) and Connie Wilson.
