Valerie leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Valerie’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around her. Though she is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support she offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Valerie will carry forward her memory in their hearts.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Foster and Martha Christine Emrich (Vallery). She is survived by: her children, Emily Spahr and Alex Spahr; and her siblings, Kay Downing (Jim) and Ernest Emrich (Chris). She is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Summers Funeral Home (223 W Market St, WSHNGTN CT HS, OH 43160). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at the Paint Township Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the All-Ohio State Fair Youth Choir.
