He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Luther and Virginia Herstine (Meyer). He is survived by: his significant other Rosemary (Gill); his children, Bonita Welker (Ted), Pamela Wilkinson, Patricia Crilley, James Herstine (Melanie) and Daniel Herstine (Angela); his grandchildren, Douglas Crilley (Kellie), Ryan Crilley (Maria), Lance Welker (April), Lori Welker, Jack Crilley (Alison), Elizabeth Herstine, Megan Bouklias (Cody), Jeric Herstine, Addison Herstine and Michael Morgan (Adriana); his great grandchildren, Taylor Welker, Abbigale Crilley, Grace Newell, Kayla Crilley, Tristen Crilley, Will Hibbs, Isabel Crilley, Henry Welker, Dylan Hargrove, Parker Hargrove, Presley Hargrove, Jack Crilley, Lucas Bouklias, Bodhi Crilley and Charlotte Morgan; his great great grandchildren, Ella Hibbs and Samuel Newell; and his siblings, Mayrene Offenberger (Boze) and Lynn Herstine (Paige). He is also survived by five children and twenty-seven grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and on Monday, October 12th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home (266 N Main St, Magnolia, OH 44643). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider donations be made in Jim's memory to the East Sparta Christian Church, the Alzheimer's Association or a charity of your choice.
