He is survived by: his wife Susan Rivers-Payne; his sister Rebecca Payne Shockley (John); his children, John Schimpf (Diana) and Katie Ekins (Bob); and his grandchildren, Ben Schimpf (Chiara), Maddie Schimpf, Grace Ekins and Bo Ekins.
