He was predeceased by: his parents, Riley Bankes and Ruth Penrod Bankes; his son Eric Allen Bankes; and his brothers, Walter and David Bankes.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Brooks Bankes; his daughters, Kim Laws (Michael) and Tasha Globokar (Jim); his grandchildren, Layne Kurzen (Seth), Brooks, Molly McKinley, Luke, Noah and Erica Sharp; and his sister-in-law Tami Rodu. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
