He was predeceased by: his parents, Noel Gallaway and Isabell Gallaway (Tooker); his former wife Marilyn Gallaway (Hartung); his son Scott Gallaway; his sister Sheryl; and his brother-in-law Rich Morris.

He is survived by: his wife Beth; his daughter-in-law Liz Gallaway; his children, Jennifer Gallaway (Cari Hicks) and Jonathan Gallaway (Teri); his stepchildren, Rob Layne (Daniela) and Laura Thomas (Josh); his brother Earl Gallaway (Max Israel); his siblings-in-law, Fred Hartung (Suzanne), Rick Kleshinski (Julie), Jim Kleshinski (Oli), Kris Moloney (Tom), Kathy Morris and Ann O'Leary (John); his mother-in-law Hilty Kleshinski; and his grandchildren, Etta Gallaway, Ari Gallaway-Hicks, Jaheim Gallaway-Hicks, Finnegan Gallaway, Matilda Gallaway, Raven Oaks, Max Layne, Aaron Layne and Luka Layne.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Rich's Riders, a Pelotonia team Alan strongly supported.
