He was predeceased by: his parents, Phillip Earl and Ethel Velva McBee (Byrd); his grandson Maxton Whitehead Jr.; and his siblings, Earl McBee, Betty Criss and Ocea Goff.
He is survived by: his wife Pat McBee of Mansfield; his children, Malinda Collins (Mark) of Columbus, Brian McBee (Jackie) of Galion, Deena Wickware (David) of Mount Gilead and Shannon Holzschuher (Mike) of Mansfield; and his grandchildren, Melissa, Doug, Phillip, Max, Ashley (Chaz), Ryan and Jesse. He is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Snyder Funeral Homes, Mount Gilead Chapel (67 N Main St, Mt Gilead, OH 43338). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 at 11:00 AM.
