He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Shears and Juanita Shears (Beeman); his daughter Angela Dawn Shears; and his brothers, Raymond "Ray" Shears and Richard "Rick" Shears.

He is survived by: his wife Saundra Shears; his stepchildren, Marie Eicher (Paul), John Bidinger (Jessica) and Anthony "Tony" Bidinger (Bethanie); his grandchild Jaden Hall; and his sisters-in-law, Cathy Shears and Ruthann Shears.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Edwin's memory may be made to Southern Care Hospice.
