He is survived by: his wife Sherrye Maddox (Juniel); his children, April Maddox and Hahson Maddox (Regina); his grandson Haarun Maddox; and his sisters, Judith Lewis (Edward) and Rakiya Abdul Alim (Jimmy). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
