Leah Jean Simmons Obituary

We bid farewell to Leah Jean Simmons of Mansfield, Ohio, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on September 6, 2025 at the age of 82. Leah touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Bethel Flannery (Skaggs) and Clayton Flannery; her husband J. H. Simmons; her daughter Teresa Simmons; her grandson David Simmons; and her siblings, Clayton Flannery Jr., Ray Flannery and Audrey Fannin.

She is survived by: her children, Anthony Simmons (Robin Lutz), Mitch Simmons (Karen) and Rhonda Heuberger (Dan); her grandchildren, Darla Smith (Grayson), Courtney Cooper (Johnathan), Brittany Simmons (Jason Feldman), Benjamin Heuberger (Crystal), Joshua Heuberger (Alissa), Tiffany Cooper, Tony Simmons (Misty), Stacy Duposki (Eric), Morgan Stacy (Justin) and Toni Raiann Simmons (Jacob Bentley); her sisters, Virginia Owens, Lois Turner and Rhonda Rhodes; and her brother-in-law Paul Fannin. She is also survived by twenty-six great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 10th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Wappner Funeral Directors and Crematory-Ontario (100 Lexington Springmill Rd S, Ontario, OH 44906). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Life Care Hospice.
