He was predeceased by: his parents, Otis Thompson and Ninnie Jarrell; his granddaughter Brittany; and his siblings, Jean Wright, Roberta Wright, Rebecca Adkins, Otis Jarrell and Orville Jarrell.

He is survived by: his wife Carlon Jarrell (Wright); his children, Connie Laney, Obbie Jarrell (Laurie), Michelle Meadows (Jeff) and Ashley Jarrell; and his brothers, William Jarrell (Judy) and John Jarrell. He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren.
