She was predeceased by: her sister Agnes Rollins; and her parents, Bonnie Floyd Calhoun and Lawrence Calhoun. She is survived by: her husband Frank DeWitt; her sister Jackie Edwards (Sterling); her children, Michele Collins (Kerry), Susan Gladden (Rick), Pam DeWitt-Meza (Fernando) and Chris DeWitt (Lisa); her grandchildren, Stephanie Yankaskas (Chris), Michael, Nick, Jessica Meza (Dan), Jake Meza (Maddie), Sadie, Mollie, Marco and Sofi; and her great grandchild Liam Yankaskas. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hope for ULD, https://www.hopeforuld.org, an organization founded by daughter Michele to raise money for research for gene therapy for a genetic progressive neurodegenerative disease that her son and Shirley's grandson Michael suffers from; or to Ontario United Methodist Church.
