He was predeceased by: his father James W. Shafer. He is survived by: his mother Laurel L. Gayheart (Richard); his children, Brittany Deaton (Nathan), Stephen J Shafer (Cassaundra) and Hannah Murrin (Thomas); his stepchildren, Miranda N. Hackworth and Haylee E Hackworth; and his brother Eric V Shafer (Sherry). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 26th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Kindred Cove (1710 Lorkay Dr, Mansfield, OH 44905).
