He was predeceased by: his parents, Edith Mottayaw (Mawhorr) and Clark Mottayaw; his brother Alan "Al" Keith Mottayaw; and his sister-in-law Sharon Mottayaw. He is survived by: his children, Michael Mottayaw (Kristen), Scott Mottayaw (Lisa) and Lynn Benavides (Sam); and his grandchildren, Leah Pondy, Beth Nadler (Chris), Kelley Guinther (Tanner), Alex Mottayaw, Jake Mottayaw (Janell), Jordan Mottayaw, Jill Simms (Steve), Corey Benavides (Amber), Casey Benavides (Carley) and Caleb Benavides (Amanda). He is also survived by fifteen great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and close friends.
A memorial gathering was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Wappner Funeral Directors and Crematory-Ontario (100 Lexington Springmill Rd S, Ontario, OH 44906). A memorial service was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
