She was predeceased by : her parents, Willie C. James and Neva James; her sisters, Rosella Jones and Ann Jordan; her husband Virgil L. Chancy Sr.; and her brothers-in-law, Robert Crutchfield, John Mayes, John Jordan and James K. Jones.
She is survived by : her children, Filbert Gardner (Cheryl), Virgil L. Chancy Jr., Elliott L. Chancy and Charita F. Ragland; her grandchildren, Herbert Ragland, Antwaun Turner, Garren Leatherman, Dontavius Chancy, Brianna Chancy, Phillip Gardner, William Gardner and Daniela Chancy; her sisters, Mattie Mayes and Bonnie Crutchfield; and her close friends, Iris "Pat" Page, Dorothy Cleveland and Marge Huntley. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
