He was predeceased by: his father Robert Chaykowski. He is survived by: his son Ben (Alivia); his brothers, Bill (Jun) and Jeff (Dave); and his mother Myrtle Case. He is also survived by friends and nearby neighbors.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cleveland Museum of Art.
