She was predeceased by: her parents, Mabelle and Erastus (Robert Filey); her daughter Yvette Filey; and her siblings, William Jackson, TJ Thornton, Ruby Nichols, Mildred Thornton, Rose Moore and Mable Lovelace.
She is survived by: her children, Timothy Thornton (Danielle) and LaTisha Coleman (James Stevenson); her grandchildren, Timothy Thornton Jr., Tevin Thornton and Catrell Simpson (Audya); her great grandchildren, Kamiya, Kingston and Uriah; her aunts, Mary Jones and Minnie Stevens; and her friend Cleo Harris. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be held on Friday, December 5th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Gaines Funeral Home (5386 Lee Rd, Maple Heights, OH 44137). A wake will be held on Saturday, December 6th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Rome Missionary Baptist Church (24571 Booker Ave, Cleveland, OH 44146). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. An entombment will be held on Saturday, December 6th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Hillcrest Memorial Park (26200 Aurora Rd, Bedford Heights, OH 44146).
