He was predeceased by: his father Larry L. Knodell; and his sister Lori Knodell. He is survived by: his children, Avrie Gray (Dante) of Ashley and Mason Knodell of Arizona; his grandchildren, Lennin, Palmer and Atlas Gray; and his brother Larry Knodell II of Jacksonville.
