He is survived by: his wife Bessie Ann (Spaulding); his children, Michael Black (Kathleen) of Mount Gilead and Jennifer Brown (Duane Straley) of Mount Gilead; his grandchildren, Kadance Brown, Syntyche Black (Zach Stone) and Kevin Brown; his great grandchildren, Vincent and Veronica Stone; his brother Roger Black (Leeanna) of Columbus; and his grandchildren, Scott Price, Kayla Price and Kaitlyn Straley (Cole Austin).
