He was predeceased by: his sons, Jim Lyon and Doug Lyon; his parents, Lucille Hawk-Lyon Gantz and Francis A. Lyon; and his siblings, Helen Stankovich, Howard Lyon and Harold Lyon.
He is survived by: his wife Jo Ann Lyon; his children, Cynthia Grizzle, Kara Lyon (Mike Grossklaus) and Fred Lyon (Laurie); and his grandchildren, Nick Grizzle (Whitney), Leah Grizzle, Sophia Lyon, William Lyon (Alejandro Burgos Gonazlez), Maddie Gunawardena (Neranjanae) and Jessica Lyon (Tucker Tague). He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Snyder Funeral Homes, DeVore Chapel (637 OH-61, Sunbury, OH 43074). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 from 1:15 PM to 1:30 PM at the Caledonia Cemetery (6351 OH-309, Caledonia, OH 43314).
