He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Joy and Rachel Bernice Farnsworth; and his siblings, Alma Beaver, Glenda Beaver, Grace Decker, Alice Malone MaryJane Ward and Harold "Pete" Joy.

He is survived by: his children, Clyde Joy (Barb) of Columbus, Bill Joy (Jayme) of Woodsfield, OH, Valerie Campbell (Gary) of Newport, Michelle Henderhan (Jimmy) of New Matamoras, Tricia Smith (Chris) of New Matamoras and Alicia Rush (John) of Newport Ohio; his grandchildren, Shawn Ogaz, Chelsey Bills, Janielle Henderhan, Adam Henderhan, Micheal Smith, Reba Smith, Ashton Rush, Nevaeh Rush, Jordan Joy, Brandon Joy, Jackson Joy and Braiden Joy; and his siblings, George Joy (Shirley), Sue Harris, Patsy Linton and Jenny Joy. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
