David R. Gerst Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of David R. Gerst in Marietta, Ohio, who passed away on May 17, 2025 at the age of 76. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Raphael William Gerst and Esther Eve Schott Gerst; his parents-in-law, Lee and Joan Casey; his stepmother-in-law Ann Casey; his brother-in-law Mike Casey; and his niece Kelsey Gerst.
He is survived by: his wife Sandy Casey (Bear); his siblings, Cynthia Bruggeman (Frank) of Dublin, OH, Donna Gerst of Caldwell, OH, Dr. Mary Gerst of Marietta, OH, Dorothy Rieker (Squeak) of Newark, OH and Larry Gerst of Caldwell, OH; and his in-laws, Greg, Barb Finch of Sistersville, WV, Dick and Carman Casey of Whispering Pines, NC.. He is also survived by friends, nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 21st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM and from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home and Cremation Service (609 West St, Caldwell, OH 43724). A rosary was held on Wednesday, May 21st 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, May 22nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (43700 Fulda Rd, Caldwell, OH 43724).
