He was predeceased by: his parents, Blaine Smarr and Lenora Spotloe Smarr Kines; his siblings, Margaret "Peg" Bennett, Kenneth "Buck" Smarr, Gary Smarr and Lynda Fornash; and his brother-in-law Jim Kelley.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Kern Smarr; his son Michael Smarr (Mandy); and his grandchildren, Ryley Lawson (Gavin), Ari Smarr, Roman Smarr and Mya Smarr.
