He was predeceased by: his parents, David A. Thompson Sr. and Mary Shertzer (Kennedy); his wife Sue Thompson (Hanna); and his sister Ellen Rife. He is survived by: his children, David Alvin Roe Thompson (Angel Hanlon) of Marion, Kellie Thompson (Rick Terry) of Port St and Candace Clegg of Marion; and his grandchildren, Josh Coy, Justin Clegg, Sydney Whiting, Heath Coy, Samantha Deberry, Skyler Thompson and Cassi Hartwell. He is also survived by eleven great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home (210 S High St, La Rue, OH 43332). A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
