He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Field and Shirley Field (Geissler). He is survived by: his former wife Cynthia Sue Claypool; his wife Cynthia "Cindy" Field; his son Matthew Field (Macey); and his siblings, Mark Field (Jo Ellen), Phillip Field (late Christine), Christopher Field (Tammy) and Ann Borders (Jerome). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

If desired, donations may be made to Marion County Humane Society, Y-Men's Service Club Ramp Fund, or Honor Flight at Home.
