He was predeceased by: his parents, Hobern Thompson and Roma Thompson (Jury); his grandson James "Bubba" Thompson; and his siblings, Keith Shumate and Martha Jayne Boyd.
He is survived by: his children, Chris Thompson (Cara) of Fredericktown, Art Thompson (Carla) of Marion, Dan Thompson (Cindy) of Cardington and Matthew Thompson (Jennifer) of Cardington; and his siblings, Dwight Shumate and Kay Kavalets. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Grand Prairie Cemetery (4964 Brush Ridge Dr N, Marion, OH 43302).
