He was predeceased by: his father James Patrick Thompson; and his nephews, Zachary Thompson and Andrew Hannalla. He is survived by: his mother Aubrey Solitare (Sax) of Old Bridge, NJ; his children, Patrick Thompson (Kirsten) of Delaware, Anna Thompson of Columbus, Alyssa Carden of Delaware, Clara Thompson of Delaware and Levi Thompson of Delaware; and his siblings, Stewart Thompson (Joann Graziano) of Milltown, NJ, James Thompson (Ted Wright) of San Diego, CA, Todd Thompson of Freehold, NJ, Karan Hannalla (Nabil) of East Brunswick, NJ and Robin Potempa (Ed) of Pittstown, NJ. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
