She was predeceased by: her parents, James Compton and Betty Johnson Compton; her former husband Ronald Spears; and her sister Sharon Compton. She is survived by: her husband Tod Markley; her sons, Scott and Brandon Spears; her brothers, Jeff Compton (Teri), David Compton (Julie) and Kevin Compton (Laurie); and her grandchildren, Austyn and Brantley Spears.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Marion Community Foundation in her honor to set up a fund for future victim's advocates.
