He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Perry and Marvel Perry (Fackler); his sister Jo Brenneman (John); and his niece Teri Jo Laytart. He is survived by: his wife Linda; his siblings-in-law, Lou Ann Showalter (Bruce), Larry Sherer (Deborah) and Loretta Kimbro; his stepmother-in-law Sharon Sherer; his sibling's children, Katie McKee (Rick Brandmeier), Amy Campbell (Greg), Andy Sherer, Kyle Kimbro (Meghan) and Geoffrey Brenneman; his great-nephews, Hayden and Karter Campbell; his great-niece Melanie Campbell; his pets, Molly and Charlie; and his friend Mike Perry.
