He was predeceased by: his parents, Minnie Viola Swartz (Zeigler) and Roy H. Swartz, Sr.; his son Doug Swartz; and his siblings, Roy Swartz, Ralph Swartz and Marie Swartz.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Jo Swartz (Berry); his children, Gail Miller (Jerry) of Eastover, S. C. and Dean Swartz; and his grandchildren, Douglas Swartz, Amy Carswell, Ashley Miller, Jessee Holbrook and Kaylee Swartz. He is also survived by six great-grandsons and three great-granddaughters.
