He is survived by: his son Greg Kater of McHenry Illinois; his granddaughter Emily J. Kater of Chicago; his siblings, Johnnie Kater of Mt, Gilead, Ronnie Kater of Richwood, Bonnie Newland of Ostrander and Carolyn Frasure of Marion; and his brother-in-law Don Carter (Dorothy) of Carey Services.
