He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Minshall and Madge L. Minshall (Eversole); his former wife Janis "Jan" Cole; his daughter LeAnys J. Cutright; and his siblings, Robert Minshall (LaDonna) and Doris Baldwin (Bill).
He is survived by: his brother Jim; his wife Gaile Hall Morris; his son James L. "J. L." Minshall II (Lisa); his stepsons, Mike Morris (Shannon) and Ron Morris Jr. (Kim); his grandchildren, Bailey L. Cutright, Taylor L. Cutright-Barger, Jasa Minshall, Tyler Minshall (Christina) and Jared Minshall; his stepgrandsons, Steven Morris (Rachel), Danny Morris and Andrew Morris; and his great grandchildren, David W. C. Barger of Charlotte, L. J, Barger, Tegan D. Minshall and Remi J. Minshall. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and beloved extended family.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Broadway Cemetery.
