She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Steven Braun; her mother Barbara Pollock (Hines); her sisters, Jennifer Pollock and Maryann Bhat (Pollock); her brother-in-law Prashanth Bhat; and her father Joseph Pollock. She was also cherished by her many nieces and nephews.
One of Amy's sources of pride was her contribution to the development of Humulin (human insulin).
