He was predeceased by : his parents, Vincent Rankl and Bessie Rankl; his siblings, Robert Rankl and Linda Fowler; and his wife Virginia (Wise).

He is survived by : his children, Ray Rankl (Karen) of Sarasota, Connie Garber (Tim) of Massillon and Pennie Baltzer (Shawn) of Beach City, Ohio; and his grandchildren, Erica Gatrell (Steve), Christi Rankl (Marie), Scott Garber (Katie), Ryan Garber (Stacy) and Seth Baltzer. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
