He is survived by: his wife Betty Hershberger; his son Chris McMerrell (Valerie) of Wilmot; his granddaughter Summer Labus-Powell (Kegan) of Navarre; and his brother Chad McMerrell.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 30th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Smith-Varns Funeral Home (115 Andreas Dr NE, Sugarcreek, OH 44681). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 30th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
