He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Boykin and Mary Boykin (Smith); his brothers-in-law, James Wilkins and Terry; and his sister Josie Mary Boykin.
He is survived by: his wife Pamela Boykin (Wyatt); his children, Shannon Boykin (Shawn Newsom), James J. Boykin, Craig L. Gibson and Steven W. Gibson (Kellee); and his sisters, Terry, Patricia Wilkins and Barbara Boykin. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
