With profound sadness, we say goodbye to James Wertz (Massillon, Ohio), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. James left this world on July 25, 2025 at the age of 84, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
As James departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though James may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy James leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Wertz and Helen Wertz (Trotter); and his siblings, Doris Wertz and Chuck Wertz. He is survived by: his significant other Jeff Benson.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Paquelet and Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Homes (1100 Wales Rd NE, Massillon, OH 44646). A burial will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens (3655 Wales Rd NE, Massillon, OH 44646).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jackson Historical Society or the McKinley Museum and Library.
