She was predeceased by: her parents, Kenneth Girt and Berna Girt (Kraft); her husband Rudolph Smith; and her brothers, Jim Girt and Richard Girt.

She is survived by: her son Deacon Randy; her daughter-in-law Lee Ann Smith (Langenfeld); her daughter Ann; her son-in-law Michael Reed; her grandson Alex Reed; and her sister Pat Monnot.
