He was predeceased by: his father William Byers; and his sister Ruth Beatty. He is survived by: his brothers, Bill Byers (Sandy) and Don Byers; and his friends, Billy and Kathy Pritchard. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and great friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bobby's honor to the Massillon Tiger Swim Team.
