He was predeceased by: his wife Helen Hennage; and his brother Robert Sand. He is survived by: his children, Ellie Hartney (Chris), Michael Sand and April Sand; his grandchildren, Xavier Sand and Dakota Hartney; his siblings, Wayne Sand (Carole) and Margaret Leyda (Richard); and his nieces and nephews, Tina Hennage-Hodge, Calvin Hennage (Kim), Janine Sand-Hoskinson, Mike Sand and Julie Carroll (Scott). He is also survived by nieces, nephew, great-nieces and nephews, family and friends.
