He was predeceased by: his brother John (Mary); and his parents, John Kurila and Mary Kurila. He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann; his children, Edward Jr. (Susan), Barb Laule (Chris), Theresa Krug (Bill), David Kurila and Carol Kurila (Gary); his grandchildren, Chris Laule (Danielle), Anita Laule (Josh), Andrew Kurila (Ashley), Jim Kurila (Rachel) and Kendall Kurila; his great grandchildren, Oliver Laule and Emelia Kurila; and his brother Steve (late Sheila).
