She was predeceased by: her parents, Inez Smith, and Earl Smith, Jr.; her daughter Rachel; her grandson Karis Mallard; her grandparents, Earl Smith, Sr., Oba and Laura Gilmore; and her siblings, Leroy, Robert and Barbra.

She is survived by: her children, Kareem Smith (Renelle) and Tasha Smith; her grandchildren, Stefon Mallard (Morgan), Isaac, Dominick, Miriam and Selah-Grace Smith; and her siblings, Ruby Brown, Larry Smith of Lorain, Willie Hollins, Clinton Smith (Lorraine) of Slidell, Lois Miller (Darrell) of Indianapolis and Milton Smith (Jacqueline) of Oklahoma. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
