She was predeceased by: her parents, Melvin B. Jayjohn and Dorothy J. Taylor Jayjohn; her husband Charles L. "Buck" Spires; and her siblings, Charles Jayjohn and Ethel Sheets.
She is survived by: her children, Teresa Vanderpool (Mike), Cheryl Wright (Jeff) and Bucky Spires (Rondel); her grandchildren, Duke Reed, Charlie Reed, TJ Shifflet, Amanda Shifflet, Jayden Spires and Evan Spires; her nieces, Michelle Ziegler and Christina Ray; Annette Tatman, Sarah "Sissy" Tatman and Jettie Tatman. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
