As we bid Shirley farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Shirley is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Perry Richard and Marjorie Louise Ross Brumfield Sr.; and her boyfriend Edwin "Smiley" Sowards. She is survived by: her siblings, Kathy Blake of Dundas, Perry Richard Brumfield Jr. of Hilliard and Bernie Brumfield (Anita) of Hickory; and her pets, Chester and Coonie. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and special friends.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made in memory of Shirley Gail Stone to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
