He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Riley and Marjorie Isabelle Walpole Riley; his brother James R. Riley; and his siblings-in-law, Marie Riley and Dan Abel.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Riley (Abel); his children, Tim Riley (Janice) of McConnelsville and Tamara Searle of Pagosa Springs, Colorado.; his grandchildren, Clinton Riley (Ciara), Abby Cole (Landon), Ryan Searle (Jessica), Riley Searle (Brooke) and Ryder Searle (Kezzie); his great grandchildren, Jozi Kammler (Aiden), Raegen, Bryar Riley, Brenna, Paige Cole, Everett, Myler, Beauden, Maddox, Soren, Avery and Ky Searle; and his siblings-in-law, Martha Pickenpaugh of New Lexington and James Abel (Margie) of Pelham, Massachusetts..
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Matheney Funeral Home (165 N Kennebec Ave, McConnelsville, OH 43756). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the McConnelsville Methodist Church, 98 N 10th Street, McConnelsville.
