Dawson of McConnelsville, Ohio, born in Goshen, Ohio, who passed away on April 16, 2024, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Estel Dawson and Fay Benjamin Dawson; his wife Sylvia Powell Dawson; and his daughters, Julie Lee Edmonson (Kevin) and Lori Lynn McCoy (Mike).

He is survived by : his grandchildren, Erin Morrison of Zanesville, Kelly Edmonson of East Fultonham, Michael McCoy (Trisha) of Stockport, Alisha McCoy of Stockport and Ashley King (Copen) of Oklahoma; and his son-in-law Kevin Edmonson of Zanesville. He is also survived by 14 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Matheney Funeral Home (165 N Kennebec Ave, McConnelsville, OH 43756). A graveside service was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Pennsville Cemetery. A memorial service was held on Sunday, April 21st 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses (65 Church Dr, McConnelsville, OH 43756).
