He was predeceased by: his parents, James A. Getty and R. Mildred Getty (Sheesley) of Gipsy, Pennsylvania.; his sister Greta Ruth "Gigi" Singleton; his nephew Alan Singleton; his parents-in-law, Andrew and Ruth Smith; and his siblings-in-law, Bud Grote, George Smith and Joan Getty.
He is survived by: his wife Barb; his daughters, Susan Brown (Lowell Wolff), Cynthia Mowery (Ronnie) and Sandra Pipher (Sam); his grandchildren, Sarah Poling (Josh), Katelyn Elliott (Sean), Timothy Mowery and Jeanie Johnson (Ben); his great grandchildren, Maria, Leah, Jacoby, Josephine, Harlow and Wyatt; his brother James "Jim" J. Getty (Carol); his sister-in-law Donna Grote; and his nieces and nephews, Kathy Shoemaker (Jeremy), Tina Stephens (Bob), Jonathan Smith (Bridget), Joseph Smith (Anne), Andrew Grote and Janet Rock.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Risley Agricultural Center (5220 Root Rd, Spencer, OH 44275).
