He was predeceased by: his parents, John Schafer and Betty Schafer (Ingabrand); his wife Janet Schafer (Goffe); and his brother Ron Schafer. He is survived by: his sister Judy Hood (Schafer) of Rexburg, ID; his children, Vicki (Schafer) Leeson (Ben) and Gary Schafer; and his grandchildren, Ashley (Leeson), Gilroy (Shilo Taylor), Amber Leeson, Alix (Leeson), Wilson (Travis), Josie Kimbrough, Lexi, Nixon, Presley, Roe, Ryder, Maeleigh, Navie, BrayLee, Montee, Brecklyn, Ridge and Rowen.
