He was predeceased by: his parents, John Doherty and Flossie Doherty (Bromley); and his siblings, Mae L. Redrick, Howard, Harold and Jackie Doherty.

He is survived by: his wife Doris Doherty (Robinson); his children, Ray Doherty (Deana) and Robyn Wiltshire (Jim); his grandchildren, Brenton Carter (Miranda), Ashley Larson (Heath), Brock Doherty, Joshua Wiltshire and Rachel Deitner (Jonathon); and his great grandchildren, Mason Carter and Ainsley Larson. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
